01A Dragon on the Doorstep
There’s a dragon on the doorstep,
Do you think he wants to play?
Let’s lock him in the closet,
Then let’s run away!
There’s a crocodile in the closet,
Don’t go inside!
Let’s put him in the attic,
Then run downstairs and hide!
There’s a spider in the attic,
Quick! Get out of here!
Let’s put him in the toy chest
And hope he’ll disappear!
There’s a tiger in the toy chest
With a very fierce glare!
Let’s chase him to the bedroom
And tell him to stay in there!
There’s a big bear in the bedroom,
With the most enormous paws!
Let’s hide him in the laundry
And make sure we shut the doors!
There’s a lion in the laundry,
Have a look and see!
Let’s shut him in the garage
And lock it with the key!
There’s a gorilla in the garage
And all the others too!
Everybody has escaped!
Watch out or they’ll catch you!
What a lot of animals!
Let’s all go outside.
Then we can play another game
And everyone can hide!
02A Farmer's Life forMe
Up jump the farmers and set off on their way.
Upjumpthe children, ready for the day.
Off they go together and this is what they say:
1,2,3,it’s a farmer’s life for me.
It’s time for the milking. The cow’s named Annabelle.
Careful! She’ll kick you and spill the milk as well.
How many buckets are there? Can you tell?
1, 2, 3, it’s a farmer’s life for me.
We go up to the henhouse, running all the way.
How many warm eggs will we find today?
Pick them up carefully and put them in the tray.
1, 2, 3, it’s a farmer’s life for me.
Out in the orchard, there blows a summer breeze.
Fat, red cherries are ripening on the trees.
Would you like to eat some? Mmm! Yes, please!
1, 2, 3, it’s a farmer’s life for me.
We’re down at the pigsty, peeping through the door
At one mother pig and her family of four.
Can you see the piglets drinking more and more?
1, 2, 3, it’s a farmer’s life for me.
Over in the meadow, the farmer mows the hay.
Soon it will be dry on this lovely sunny day.
Rake it and turn it, the baler’s on its way.
1, 2, 3, it’s a farmer’s life for me.
Up on the hillside, we’re counting lambs and sheep.
Some lambs are lost, though we can hear them bleat.
Rattle the bucket and give them all a treat.
1, 2, 3, it’s a farmer’s life for me.
Down in the paddock, we check the water trough.
The horses are thirsty; have they got enough?
Turn on the hosepipe. Whoosh! Now turn it off.
1, 2, 3, it’s a farmer’s life for me.
Back in the farmhouse, it’s time to make a cake.
Let’s get ready so we can start to bake.
Leave it to cool, then slice it into eight.
1, 2, 3, it’s a farmer’s life for me.
Yes it is.
It’s time to: feed all the ponies and shut the paddock gate.
Close up the henhouse before it gets too late.
The pigs are in the pigsty, the mower’s in the shed.
Work’s done for the day, and now it’s time for bed.
Work’s done for the day, and now it’s time for bed.
03A Hole in the Bottom of the Sea
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea.
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea.
There’s a hole, there’s a hole,
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea!
There’s a shark in the hole in the bottom of the sea.
In the dark in the hole in the bottom of the sea.
There’s a hole, there’s a hole,
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea!
There’s an eel and a shark in the hole in the bottom of the sea.
He’s concealed from the shark in the hole in the bottom of thesea.
There’s a hole, there’s a hole,
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea!
There’s a squid and an eel and a shark in the hole in the bottomof the sea.

There’s a hole, there’s a hole,
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea!

There’s a hole, there’s a hole,
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea!
There’s a snail and a crab and a squid and an eel and a shark inthe hole in the bottom of the sea.
Leaves a trail past the crab and the squid and the eel and theshark in the hole in the bottom of the sea.
There’s a hole, there’s a hole,
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea!
There’s a weed and a snail and a crab and a squid and an eel anda shark in the hole in the bottom…
Grows at speed past the snail and the crab and the squid and theeel and the shark in the hole in the bottom…
There’s a hole, there’s a hole,
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea!
Thesun feeds the weed feeds the snail feeds the crab feeds thesquid feeds the eel feeds the shark in the hole in the bottom of the sea.
The sun feeds the weed feeds the snail feeds the crab feeds thesquid feeds the eel feeds the shark in the hole in the bottom of the sea.
There’s a hole, there’s a hole,
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea!
There’s a hole, there’s a hole,
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea!
There’s a hole, there’s a hole,
There’s a hole in the bottom of the sea!
So look out
If you go to the hole in the bottom of the sea!

If you go to the hole in the bottom of the sea!

11Port side Pirates
When I was young I had some fun
The day I went to sea.
I jumped on board a pirate ship.
And the captain said to me:
Oh we go this way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
This way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!---
I sailed with you to Timbuktu
The day I went to sea.
I lived on board a pirate ship,
And the captain said to me:
Oh we go this way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
This way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!---
The west wind’s force blew usoff course
The day I went to sea.
I lived on board a pirate ship,
And the captain said to me:
Oh we go this way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
This way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
We hit a storm, our sails weretorn
The day I went to sea.
I lived on board a pirate ship,
And the captain said to me:
Oh we go this way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
This way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!----
The first mate roared, ”manoverboard!”
The day I went to sea.
I lived on board a pirate ship,
And the captain said to me:
Oh we go this way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
This way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
The storm blew out, we lookedabout
The day I went to sea.
I lived on board a pirate ship,
And the captain said to me:
Oh we go this way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
This way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!----
From the front deck, we saw awreck
The day I went to sea.
I lived on board a pirate ship,
And the captain said to me:
Oh we go this way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
This way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!----
We had no fear, we sailed upnear
The day I went to sea.
I lived on board a pirate ship,
And the captain said to me:
Oh we go this way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
This way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!----
We found a hoard of gold onboard
The day I went to sea.
I lived on board a pirate ship,
And the captain said to me:
Oh we go this way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
This way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!-----
We weighed and measured all ourtreasure
The day I went to sea.
I lived on board a pirate ship,
And the captain said to me:
Oh we go this way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
This way, that way,
Port side, starboard
Over the deep blue sea!
We sang this song the whole daylong
The day I went to sea.
Oh, the pirate’s life is fullof fun,
The pirate’s life for me!

In the universespins a galaxy.
It’s a spiral of starscalled the Milky Way.
And the bright stars shine all around, all around,
And the bright stars shine all around.
In among the stars of that galaxy
Is our solar system where eight planets spin.
The planets that spin in the solar system in the galaxy
Where the bright stars shine all around, all around,
Where the bright stars shine all around.
In the middle of the planets shines a burning sun.
The sun’s our own star —a bright, blazing ball.
The sun in the middle of theplanets that spin in the solar system in the galaxy
Where the bright stars shine all around, all around,
Where the bright stars shine all around.
And around that sunorbits ourblue earth
Blue from the water that givesus life.
The earth around the sun andthe sun in the middle of the planets that spin in the solar system in thegalaxy
Where the bright stars shine all around, all around,
Where the bright stars shine all around.
And around that earth orbits a moon,
Tuning every month, tugging atthe tides.
The moon around the earth andthe earth around the sun and the sun in the middle of the planets that spin inthe solar system in the galaxy
Where the bright stars shine all around, all around,
Where the bright stars shine all around.
Look at all the stars.
Whoa—asteroid belt!
That looks like a shootingstar!
It must be a meteor.
I think I can see Jupiter’smoons
Wait, that’s not a moon.
It’s a satellite!
Is that a black hole?
Whoaaaaaaa…!
Down on the earth we watch thesky.
The twinkling stars wink downat us.
The stars in our eyes and themoon around the earth and the earth around the sun and the sun in the middle ofthe planets that spin in the solar system in the galaxy
Where the bright stars shine all around, all around,
Where the bright stars shine all around.
13The Animal Boogie
Down in the jungle, come if you dare!
What can you see shaking here and there?
With a shaky shake here and a shaky shake there,
What’s that creature shaking here and there?
IT’S A BEAR!
She goes shake, shake, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Shake, shake, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Shake, shake, boogie, woogie, oogie!
That’s the way she’s shaking here and there.
Down in the jungle where nobody sees,
What can you see swinging through the trees?
With a swingy swing here and a swingy swing there,
What’s that creature swinging through the trees?
IT’S A MONKEY!
He goes swing, swing, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Swing, swing, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Swing, swing, boogie, woogie, oogie!
That’s the way he’s swinging through the trees.
Down in the jungle in the midday heat,
What can you see stomping its feet?
With a stompy stomp here and a stompy stomp there,
What’s that creature stomping its feet?
IT’S AN ELEPHANT!
She goes stomp, stomp, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Stomp, stomp, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Stomp, stomp, boogie, woogie, oogie!
That’s the way she’s stomping her feet.
Down in the jungle where the trees grow high,
What can you see flying in the sky?
With a flappyflap here and a flappy flap there,
What’s that creature flying in the sky?
IT’S A BIRD!
He goes flap, flap, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Flap, flap, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Flap, flap, boogie, woogie, oogie!
That’s the way he’s flying in the sky.
Down in the jungle where the leaves lie deep,
What can you see learning how to leap?
With a leapyleap here and a leapy leap there,
What’s that creature learning how to leap?
IT’S ALEOPARD!
She goes leap, leap, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Leap, leap, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Leap, leap, boogie, woogie, oogie!
That’s the way she’s learning how to leap.
Down in the jungle where there’s danger all around,
What can you see slithering on the ground?
With a slitherslither here and a slither slitherthere,
What’s that creature slithering on the ground?
IT’S A SNAKE!
He goes slither, slither, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Slither, slither, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Slither, slither, boogie, woogie, oogie!
That’s the way he’s slithering on the ground.
Down in the jungle where the stars are shining bright,
Who can you see swaying left and right?
With a sway sway here and a sway sway there,
Who is swaying left andswaying right?
WE ARE! YOU! ME! EVERYBODY!
We go sway sway, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Sway sway, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Sway sway, boogie, woogie, oogie!
That’s the way we boogie through the night!
We go sway sway, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Sway sway, boogie, woogie, oogie!
Sway sway, boogie, woogie, oogie!
That’s the way we boogie through the night!
